If you currently have a WordPress blog from which you wanted to sell either digital or physical goods from, then the first thing you will need to do is get some kind of shopping cart plugin with which you can make the sales with.
But what a lot of people are not aware of is that it is also possible to use certain shopping cart plugins such as the WP eStore plugin to protect your WordPress pages and posts so that only the people who have made a purchase can access these pages.
In this article I’ll show you step-by-step how you can use the WP eStore plugin to not only make sales from your website but also how to restrict access to certain pages/posts so that only your customers can see the content.
Normally if you wanted to protect content on your WordPress site you would need some sort of membership plugin but if you wanted to perform a fairly simple and uncomplicated type of protection such as restricting access to a page or post so only your buyers can see it, then you can do that quite easily using the WP eStore plugin.
The scenario I will use is where I’m selling access to a video and a PDF download on a page somewhere on my blog.
Once a customer purchases my product they will get an encrypted link which they can use to gain access to the protected product page.
Please watch the video tutorial for a step by step outline on how to achieve the above scenario.
